The blockage stops the thalmor from taking a large naval front, as their eastern ports were completely out of buisness. Skyrim's navy began battle with the Thalmor's near the summerset isles, giving hammerfell time to set up a blockage. They then began their naval campaign, regaining alot of lost islands from the thalmor. The Thalmor took the lower areas of Hammerfell before they fought back, mainly concerntraiting in encircling tactics, they beat the Thalmor out of hammerfell. As the thalmor began invasions of hammerfell itself, so was the empire. Skyrim & Hammerfell's navies went to begin a blockade of the summerset isles.
As the thalmor steamrolled the brettons, Hammerfell called on its ally, Skyrim, to help. The Thalmor invasion of high rock was essentially an act of war against Hammerfell.
The brettons were given independance as a peace act between Hammerfell & The Empire, High Rock was a vassal of hammerfell, kept very close as a militaristic vassal more than an economic one. However, when the thalmor came to protect their territory, they also got hungry for more territory. They lost alot of battles in the north against the Empire, however, in west, fighting against the Thalmor was easy, as they weren't in high concerntration in the area. Getting closer to the imperial city means closer to either losing or winning.Įlsweyr entered the war almost immediately after gaining its freedom, its goal was to set up a southern-tamriellic empire based in Elsweyr. After the Northern Battles, the Stormcloaks were stepping into harsh territory.
Skyrim won a streak of battles in the Border Holds. The first battle was the Battle of Pale Pass, between Skyrim & The Empire. After the swift re-taking of skyrim from the empire, The Stormcloaks set out to fight the empire in their own territory.
